I filmed myself

I put my cheapo camera on a cheapo tripod, posted it next to a roundabout, and did some rounds with my motorcycle. I was going as fast as I dared to go, and it felt really spectacular, but the movie says otherwise. It doesn't look the least bit spectacular :-) Here's a frame of the video:

Sorry, there's no zoom. My camera films at 320x240, and has no zoom lens. I looked at my movie over and over again, and I was appalled at the lack of spectacular footage. I wondered what would happen if I just rotated the image a little bit. I found out I need to rotate the image around 40 degrees in order to have my bike appear "upright":

This actually does look better, in my humble opinion :-) and I figure a 40° lean isn't too shabby. Most tyres only go to 55° anyway.

Knowing how much this lean scared me, though, I guess I'm still a long way from putting my knee down.

Damage on my friend's bike was costly, but nothing major. We agreed to not replace a few scratched parts (like the brushed steel exhaust cover), and the rest of the cost is split between the two of us. I paid part of it immediately, and now I'll have to rob some old lady to get the rest of the money.
Fortunately, my friend is very relax about it and he doesn't mind paying part of the cost himself, or I would be technically flat-out broke for the next year.

Now I have at least a fighting chance of being able to pay my next visit to the track, Folembray! Here I come!
